Paper Recycling at All-Time High in US

NEW YORK, NY The American Forest & Paper Assn. (AF&PA) reports 56% of the paper consumed in America was recovered for recycling in 2007. This is an all-time high and an industry goal that is five years ahead of schedule, says AF&PA, which has set a new goal of 60% recovery by 2012. The 54.3 million tons of paper recovered in 2007 add up to more than 360 lbs for every person in America.
